Community Relationships

Holy Trinity is committed to working in and within the wider community in and around Haddington and many of our members are involved volunteering in support of various projects and groups:

Care Homes

Judith, an Anna Chaplain, visits the Haddington Care Home twice a week chatting to the residents, listening when they need to talk, bringing communion from reserved sacrament and taking occasional memorial services when residents are unable to attend funerals. This is very much appreciated by residents and staff alike. Sam a retired minister and past hospital chaplain does the same for Hilton Lodge.

Lammermuir Larder

Lammermuir Larder is a local community food initiative set up to support individuals and families in the Haddington area who are struggling financially. The congregation regularly provide contributions of food to the larder which is opposite our church.

Lammermuir Festival

Lammermuir Music Festival happens in September every year and the church is used as a venue for musical events at coffee time and candlelight events some evenings. These are very well attended.

Compass School

Rev Canon Liz attends regular assemblies and is on the board of governors.

Knox Academy

Holy Trinity has connections with Knox Academy and some pupils help with serving and clearing up at our monthly soup and sweet lunches, as part of their volunteering, which counts towards their Duke of Edinburgh awards and University applications.

Bethany Care Van

Volunteers from Holy Trinity are part of the team of churches who man the Bethany Care Van throughout the year, giving out food and drinks to the homeless and those in need in Edinburgh.
