A Real Family Entertainment and Evening!
A real family night out!
It seems that our Burns evening is becoming quite a tradition with many people this year wanting to offer a ‘turn’, and the event selling
out with the amount of people who wanted to come along. Although Margaret needed to cater haggis neeps and tatties for 80 people,
what a joy it was to welcome so many to the Trinity Centre for an evening of fun!!
This year Cindy (and the Rector) sang complete with cowboy hats … Mary played her accordion and told us some great information … Joan sang as beautifully as always … the Reelsome Eight (which includes our own Valerie and John Elcock and Duncan our treasurer) sang some lovely Burns songs, and Phil and Stewart sang and played their guitars. Stewart compere-d it all, adding a tune or two himself, and playing
with Callum for the dances.
This was topped off by a quiz, the answers of which were all to do with the sun and rain! It was such a good evening. The camaraderie was apparent, the dancing skills were a mixture of utter talent and bewilderment … and the ‘turns’ were received in the spirit of fun and generosity in which they were offered. Thanks as always go to Stewart and Margaret for organising it all; to everyone who served/cleared up;
to those who attended and just had good fun. I think we’ll all have to get our tickets early next year!
