Play Church was launched in Edinburgh Diocese in 2017 and in July travelled to Holy Trinity for 3 months. It consists of an altar and everything in miniature for children to explore and play with. The children enjoyed dressing up and even ‘baptised’ the baby. They listened to bible stories and set the altar: a novel way of engaging children in church, offering an immersive experience, encouraging play and wonder about worship and helping to understand what is happening during a service.
