A painting which hangs in the gallery in Holy Trinity Church has recently been cleaned and restored following fire damage (some years ago) and general dirt due to age. The painting entitled ‘Christ crucified ascending’ is by Alan Sutherland, an Edinburgh artist born in 1931. He has had portraits exhibited in the Royal Scottish Academy.
Otherwise we don’t know the history of how it came to be here but we think it’s rather special. If anyone reading this knows anything of its history, please get in touch.
